News Sources
- The Washington Post
- The New York Times
- CNN Yech
- MSNBC Fox News wannabe. Worse than yech.
- Sky News British cable news outlet. As bad
as Fox News
- BBC World News Includes streaming radio
- DSL-TV Want to watch a live stream
of BBC World TV? Maybe you want the
German view -- how about Deutsche Welle TV?
Or EuroNews TV, a news
channel consortium based in Paris? This is the site, but it is for web wizards
only (and a broadband connection). Based in the Netherlands, this site only
works if it thinks you are in the Netherlands. No problem: just
find a Free Proxy Server in the Netherlands, and then change your Explorer connection
setting to the proxy server (Tools|Internet Options|Connection|LAN Settings...|Proxy Server).
Using either RealOne Player or Windows Media Player, you'll get a very solid
streaming video.
- TV4All Another way to look at
television from around the world, including a live stream
of BBC News TV and al-Jazeera
- Ha'aretz - English Edition Reliable Israeli Daily.
For the Hebrew Edition, you'll need Hebrew fonts
- Slate Consistently timely and superior
insight
- DEBKAfile "Insider" report from 2
former Economist journalists based in Jerusalem. Often way ahead of the pack; just
as often misses the mark
- The Guardian Respected British paper from the "Left."
Excellent on-line presence, including this Weblog.
- The Times of London Online
Respected British paper from the "Right." Only some parts available for free, the
rest requires a paid subscription.
- The Daily Telegraph Online British paper;
good military analysis by their Defence editor John Keegan
- World Press Review, Mideast section and
World Press Review, Mid-East Newspapers for
a view from the region
- Al-Jazeera in English went live on 3/25/03;
Al-Jazeera Online Based
in Qatar, you'll need Arabic fonts for this one.
- Al-Bawaba - Middle East News
- Al-Hayat - English, also
Dar Al-Hayat London-based pan-Arab daily, quite good, but
you'll need Arabic for the latter, more complete site
